🟢 Easy: Monster taming outside Pokémon

Coromon and Nexomon: Extinction proudly speak the language of elemental creatures, team building, and suspiciously talented children leaving home. They change the nouns and keep the pleasure of finding one more species in the grass.
Monster Crown adds breeding with inherited traits. Ooblets adds farming and dance. The category is crowded because collecting creatures is one of gaming's most efficient traps: give a player a numbered list and watch dinner get cold.
🟡 Medium: Spend the adventure helping the dead
Games: Kena: Bridge of Spirits · Whispering Willows · Afterparty · Cozy Grove
Kena is a spirit guide whose work involves helping the dead move on. The Rot following her are cute enough to sell plush toys and useful enough to rearrange the environment. Death has rarely had better assistants.
Whispering Willows resolves ghosts' unfinished business. Cozy Grove turns that work into daily life with ghost bears. Afterparty sends two dead friends drinking through Hell, where helping souls often looks suspiciously like making worse decisions together.
🔵 Hard: Rulers answer one petition or decision at a time
Games: Yes, Your Grace · Sort the Court! · Lapse: A Forgotten Future · Reigns: Game of Thrones
Sort the Court! gives a monarch two answers: yes and no. Citizens line up, ask for money or permission, and leave the consequences behind. Absolute power turns out to involve a surprising amount of inbox management.
Yes, Your Grace brings petitioners into the throne room. Lapse uses cards for a future president's choices. Reigns: Game of Thrones turns rule into left and right swipes while four competing resources wait to collapse.
Government arrives with a very specific rhythm. One person enters. One decision happens. The ruler rarely has enough context, money, or time. History becomes a queue, and everybody in it wants five gold.
🟣 Tricky: Restore color to a drained world
Games: The Last Tinker: City of Colors · Discolored · Paper Mario: Color Splash · De Blob 2
Paper Mario: Color Splash opens with Prism Island losing its paint. Mario carries a hammer that restores color, while paint also fuels his battle cards. Art supplies have entered the economy.
Discolored makes missing colors the central puzzle. De Blob 2 fights an authoritarian cult committed to grayness. The Last Tinker treats color, joy, and life as things the Bleakness erases together.
Restoration is literal here. These are not colorful games grouped by palette. Their worlds have been drained, and progress leaves visible color behind the player like proof of work.
