Spoilers ahead: for the puzzle and the movies/games
This post assumes you've already solved the puzzle. It reveals all categories and their connections, and discusses plot details, endings, and spoilers for featured movies/games throughout.
Windowkill lets gunfire shove the borders of its own windows around the desktop. The operating system has become level geometry and would like to file a complaint.
Games: Mendel · Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution · Equilinox · APICO
Mendel breeds flowers whose genes merge and mutate. Species gives creatures inherited genomes and lets evolution continue through their children.
Equilinox allows selective breeding while the player builds an ecosystem. APICO turns bee cross-breeding into the center of an apiculture game. The next generation is not flavor text. It is the system the player keeps poking to see what appears.
Games: I Am Your Beast · You Suck at Parking · Please, Don't Touch Anything · Don't open the doors!
Two titles make declarations. I Am Your Beast identifies the speaker with alarming confidence. You Suck at Parking reviews the player before the first attempt.
The other two issue commands. Please, Don't Touch Anything tries politeness. Don't open the doors! skips it. Each title has a verb and either a stated subject or the understood "you" of an imperative. Grammar has entered the category and immediately become rude.
Games: The Void Rains Upon Her Heart · Minishoot' Adventures · NeverAwake · Rabbit & Steel
The Void Rains Upon Her Heart has expanded in early access to more than one hundred bosses. Minishoot' Adventures places bullet-hell encounters inside a broader exploration game.
NeverAwake turns nightmares into twin-stick barrages. Rabbit & Steel borrows raid-style teamwork and fills boss arenas with patterns that must be read together. Damage matters, but survival begins with noticing which thin patch of floor is about to remain legal.
Games: KinitoPET · Outcore: Desktop Adventure · Windowkill · Rusty's Retirement
KinitoPET moves through simulated desktop applications while its virtual assistant gets personal. Outcore sends the player into files, Paint, and Notepad for puzzle pieces.
Windowkill turns window borders into movable walls. Rusty's Retirement sits as a narrow farm overlay while other applications stay usable. The reveal is that the rectangle around the game is no longer neutral furniture. Somebody gave it mechanics.
The sentence-title group insults, warns, identifies, and pleads before play starts. Today's CineLinkr puzzle puts its arguments around a dinner table, where closing the window is considered impolite.
