Spoilers ahead: for the puzzle and the movies/games
This post assumes you've already solved the puzzle. It reveals all categories and their connections, and discusses plot details, endings, and spoilers for featured movies/games throughout.
Pokémon Silver lets you become Johto Champion, rolls the emotional equivalent of an ending, then opens Kanto. A second region was sitting behind the credits like this was a perfectly normal amount of cartridge.
Games: A Plague Tale: Requiem · Resident Evil: Revelations 2 · The Walking Dead: Season One · Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Lee and Clementine made The Walking Dead work because protection is never a clean mechanical objective. Every promise to her survives only until the next bad choice.
Amicia's bond with Hugo carries A Plague Tale: Requiem, while Barry and Natalia form one half of Revelations 2. Enslaved makes the arrangement hostile at first: Trip uses a slave headband to force Monkey's help. Trust has to catch up with the mission design.
Games: Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus · Avenging Spirit · The 3rd Birthday · Omikron: The Nomad Soul
Abe chants until he can steer guards who were trying to kill him moments earlier. Possession in Abe's Exoddus is stealth, sabotage, and employee reassignment.
Avenging Spirit makes body theft the ghost hero's basic survival rule. Aya's Overdive in The 3rd Birthday jumps between soldiers, and Omikron casts the player as a soul moving through citizens. The avatar is less a person than an available seat.
Games: The Council · Road 96 · Batman: The Telltale Series · Until Dawn
Telltale's timer made silence an authored response. Refusing to pick a line in Batman does not pause the scene while Bruce workshops a better answer.
The Council attaches skills and social weaknesses to its conversations. Road 96 pushes choices through unpredictable roadside meetings, while Until Dawn mixes timed speech with panic decisions. Hesitation is not outside the game. It is what happened.
Games: Pokémon Silver · Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age · Kid Icarus: Uprising · Bravely Default II
The Medusa fight in Kid Icarus: Uprising lands at Chapter 9. The game has 25 chapters. Masahiro Sakurai treats a plausible finale as permission to start escalating properly.
Dragon Quest XI S and Bravely Default II both use endings and credits as doors rather than walls. The trick is not a short bonus scene. Each game has enough left to force a new understanding of its structure.
Kanto is still the great flex here. Modern games call that an expansion and announce three editions.
The day's CineLinkr puzzle also moved people between bodies, but nobody had to press Start afterward.
